Bilingual Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster

Position

The WCF Insurance claims department has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as a bilingual claims adjuster for workers' compensation, Spanish speaking. This is a full-time, exempt position that works out of WCF's Sandy, Utah headquarters. After training, a hybrid schedule is available. Two days a week in office are required. This posting is open to internal and external candidates.

 

Responsibilities

The disability adjuster manages workers' compensation claims from beginning to end. This includes investigating, documenting, and determining coverage and liability for industrial-accident and occupational-disease claims. The person in this position closely reviews medical records and other documentation in order to manage the medical and disability aspects of all claims. The adjuster also works closely with injured workers, policyholders, providers, vendors, other WCF departments, the Utah Labor Commission, and others to make sure that injured workers receive appropriate benefits under the relevant statutory and regulatory guidelines. The disability adjuster delivers industry-leading service to injured workers and policyholders by constantly demonstrating compassion, empathy, responsiveness, and professionalism.

 

Qualifications

The most qualified candidate will have:

· Experience adjusting workers' compensation claims.

· Fluent Spanish-speaking skills.

· Thorough understanding of the Utah Workers' Compensation and Occupational Disease Acts, the Utah Fair Claims Practices Act, and Utah Labor Commission rules and procedures.

· Working knowledge of medical terminology.

· Superb written and oral communication skills.

· Keen attention to detail, excellent investigative abilities, and first-rate organizational and interpersonal skills.

· Outstanding customer-service skills, with a record of success in customer-facing positions.

· High comfort level with technology.

 

Other factors that would set a candidate apart include a bachelor's degree, AIC designation, , and experience adjusting claims in other states -particularly California.

Internal candidates should have 6 months in their current position, acceptable job performance, and must notify their current supervisor that they have applied for the position.

 

Minimum pay for Associate Disability Adjuster is $55,680 yearly.
