Manager, Finance

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manager, Finance is charged with leading Finance activities related to employee payroll and benefits for the Sundance Institute.

Working under the direction of the Controller, the Manager will also oversee the Institute corporate credit card program and the employee expense management system, Concur. Additionally, they will complete monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations. This role will also work closely with the Manager, Human Resources Administration.

This full-time position may work remotely out of any of our operating states with a preference for candidates based out of the greater Los Angeles, CA or Park City, UT area in order to work and collaborate onsite in a hybrid capacity throughout the year. Extended hours, including evenings and weekends will be required at key points throughout the year. Occasional travel to other offices and events may also be required.

Top priorities include but are not limited to...

  • Processing timely and accurate bi-weekly payroll, including initial review of payroll batch, maintenance of employee elective 401k deferrals in payroll system (ADP), transmission of 401k contributions, payment of taxes and other payroll withholdings, preparation of new employee import data for Finance ERP (NetSuite), reporting to regulatory bodies and tax agencies.

  • Reconciling and coding monthly insurance bills.

  • Managing annual health care benefits reporting for tax purposes and W-2’s.

  • Collaborating with Human Resources, other departments, and vendors in the maintenance of payroll data and systems.

  • Staying current on federal and state payroll tax laws and reporting to ensure the Institute is in compliance.

  • Reconciling assigned balance sheet and bank accounts monthly.

  • Maintaining the employee expense management system (Concur), providing staff training and support as needed.

  • Overseeing the corporate credit card program, including card management, user system (Visa Spend Clarity) training, monthly data import to NetSuite, and card reconciliation.

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets...

  • 3 years of related accounting or payroll experience.

  • Excellent problem solving skills and a high level of attention to detail.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required to work effectively with a wide variety of people.

  • Excellent organizational skills including self-management of work schedule.

  • Ability to maintain confidential information.

  • Working knowledge of databases along with proficiency in Microsoft and Google Products.

  • Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, NetSuite, and Concur preferred.

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

*Final rate of pay is determined based on the applicant's geographic location, relevant experience and skills, and internal equity among similar positions within our organization.
